Overview: This program is customized for the faculty members who are responsible for the future of young students and its very important to understand the needs to a student. Not every student is the same in his/her caliber and every student needs to be groomed differently for future. With this training module, We try to share some of our best training methodologies with the faculty members which will make them more effective while dealing with the challenges that are faced as a faculty member. The students look upto the faculty and the role is not just limited to teaching now, there are a lot more expectations from the teachers. The communication and soft skills are one very essential part of it and dealing parents is also very important. Dealing with various issues which arise from students is also very important. This includes issues like conflict management, anger management, counseling techniques, time management, personal effectiveness etc.
When the teachers are great communicators, they not just find acceptance among the students but also they are found suitable for important roles by the management. Its very important to be a performer, not just by handling own subjects better but by being able to handle students better and becoming a role model for the students. Subject knowledge along with leadership qualities will make the faculty members ideal for todays environment.
The one thing that is the foundation of our very existence is communication. Everyone of us communicates as a part of our existence. The organizations survive on communication inside the organization as well as outside the organization. Inside communication means the information exchanged among various departments and teams and outside communication means the communication or information exchange with other partners like the vendors, clients, government bodies, visitors etc. The communication may be verbal or written, but one things for sure is conveyed, a message which the receiver interprets and makes an opinion about.
The faculty should be acquainted with the right set of methods with which the teaching/training can be made more effective. Also, one should be aware of his/her weak areas and should work on those areas to become an effective faculty member.
Every faculty member must have the counselling capabilities because if a student or a set of students are not responding in your subject properly, there may be some issue affecting that student and which may be solved by counseling the individual. Such counseling sessions are known to make very good reputation with students.
We cannot rule out the presence and effects of Stress in everyday life of students and faculty. When people work and live social life Stressors are bound to be there. Stressors in their lives leave them feeling emotionally and physically overwhelmed. Living a healthy life and performing well in all spheres of life depend upon effective stress management. Therefore, significance of stress management need not be stressed. We empower individual to develop personal action plan for stress management.
Anger management is a very important aspect in students and teachers life because of the situations they have to face. It is very important to keep a check on the anger because it can only spoil the situation. There are ways with which we can keep the situation under control and thus using the situation for making ourselves more effective.
As a teacher /faculty member its very important to be an effective speaker. If you are not able to connect with the students well, then your knowledge will not have a great impact and you will remain just average. You need to be in control and this is only possible when you understand the various tools which make you effective communicator.
Confidence is a virtue which reflects our thinking process. If we are usually in fear of a situation, we will lack confidence while doing it. It is important to be mentally strong and face a situation. Mental strength can be achieved by regular practice of things which we are scared of. There are very effective tools which can convert our weak areas into our strength
Leaders are respected for their actions and the clarity which they bring for themselves and others. To lead a department , you must be fully aware of all the activities that are important and also always ready to help others achieve top performance. You need to be a top performer yourself also. You can be called a leader when you have the respect of the students, other fellow faculty members and the management. Everyone around you must get inspired by you in terms of knowledge as well as other skills which you possess.
